It’s your big interview day. Since morning you start getting anxious about it. Most of us start wondering about the questionnaire interviewer is going to ask questions like:
- What will happen?
- What questions the interviewer will ask?
- How to prepare for the whole process?
- Will you make it through or not?
While you have done all the preparation for the technical round, the interaction with the HR is something most people lack. Which generally start with the question like “Tell me about yourself”.
This is one of the most important questions. However, lots of people do not know that the USP of cracking any interview is hidden in this question. Whenever an interviewer ask you this question do not go with a personal aspects like this.
Hi sir, My name is Rohan and I am from Delhi, I have recently graduated with a B.com honors degree. About my family, my father works as a government employee in Hindustan Limited and my mother is a housewife. I have two siblings, a brother and a sister. My brother works as an IT consultant and my sister is preparing for her JEE- mains exam. MY hobbies are Traveling, dancing , clubbing and internet surfing.
So what’s wrong with this approach?
The candidate has just described only about his personal details without highlighting any of his achievement, his capabilities and the previous work he or she might have been associated with.
The interviewer is never much interested in knowing about your family, a college degree, his hobbies and blah blah. Rather they want to see if you can project yourself as competitive, goal oriented, self motivated individual. If you can establish yourself as a brand, an identity in that storytelling process.
